Jack’s Baby Noises →
Here’s a new video we recorded yesterday. If you watch this in a quiet room and turn up the volume, you can hear some of the baby noises that Jack makes.

A Tiny Scare… →
Last night around 3 am, Jack started crying. One minute he was sleeping in the Bugaboo next to our bed, and the next minute he was screaming his head off.
We’ve never heard this particular cry before. Between screams, there was a gurgling sound, as if Jack was underwater or something.
Greta was the first to wake up. She lifted him out of the bassinet, put him on his tummy, and gave him her...

New Google mobile maps feature →
I can’t wait to see what will be possible on mobile phones in 5 years. With Apple innovating with the iPhone, Google introducing a new mobile software platform, and Verizon opening its network, the conditions for creative explosion are coalescing. (i forced the third “C”)
Here’s a cool video explaining a new Google maps feature…can’t wait to try it on my Curve.
“And That’s Why We Don’t Give Money To Poor... →
I introduced “Atlas Shrugged” to little Jack today. I’m not sure how much he absorbed.

Want to spoil Jack? →
Go to The Onion Store and buy Jack this baby tee (only $9.99!):
While you’re there, Dad really wants this bumper sticker (only 1.99!), these 2 t-shirts (only 9.99 each!), and this sweatshirt (only 39.99!).
New look for Herbietown… →
I spent a couple hours yesterday tinkering with HTML, and the result is a new navigation bar on Herbietown. What I’d really like to do is make this blog look more like the main pages, but that involves playing with PHP and Wordpress, and I’m not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.
What do you think of the new navigation bar?
wishing he had listened: “sleep when your baby sleeps”

Jack has another Martini (encounter) →
Please note that the sound of the baby crying is NOT Jack. We were watching a video about soothing a baby.
Problems seeing the video? watch it here.
Proof of Child Abuse →
To anyone that reads this blog, it will be no surprise that I was violently abused as a child. Until now, I’ve never been able to prove anything, so I’ve kept the dark secret locked inside me.
Then, yesterday, I was going through some old pictures of myself online, and I finally came across photographic confirmation of the horrors I experienced during my childhood. The picture below confirms what...
just plain tired.

Finally, some pics of little Jack. Sorry for the delay….but we’ve been a little busy.
Greta and I are struggling with the decision of whether to get Jack involved in modeling. He’s been approached by a dozen different agencies already. Thoughts?
Meet Jack Stanley Herbert
amazed: Jack likes Sublime (at least the way his Daddy sings it)
singing Violent Femmes to a 2-day-old at 5 am, and couldn’t possibly be happier.
in the market for a “My First Excel” book for Jack.
Jack Stanley Herbert →
Jack Stanley Herbert was born Tuesday night at 11:27 pm. Weighing in at 8lbs 14.3oz (4036 grams), and measuring 19 inches (48.5 cm), Jack came into the world with a full head of hair and dark blue eyes. We’re keeping a wary eye on the other parents in the hospital, because it’s clear that little Jack is the cutest baby here!
We had quite an adventure, starting with a false alarm on...

Someone buy me this jacket →
Would someone please buy me this jacket? It’s available at Banana Republic for only $178.
I was watching the Patriots game with my wife, and she looked over to see me browsing bananarepublic.com. They have this cool feature that lets you zoom in on the product….so Greta thinks I’m obsessively checking out the model seen in this picture.
Anyways, I tried on this jacket yesterday, and I really...
Bedchenroom →
Have you seen those new AT&T commercials? The ones that talk about how AT&T works in more places, like Philawashkatmandu?
I HATE those commercials.
I just want my phone to work in my apartment: in my bedroom, in my kitchen, and in the living room. That’s it. Forget Katmandu, forget Philadelphia.
My network is called Bedchenroom.
I think I’ll use AT&T’s website to make a coffee mug...
Completely torn between rooting for my real team (Redskins) and my fantasy team (QB’d by Tony Romo). Sucking the enjoyment out of the game.
Updating Herbietown, paying bills, packing a hospital bag, learning Access, and getting ready to watch the Redskins upset the Cowboys.
